Leman Street Tavern is famed in Aldgate for its extensive drinks menu, cosy interior and relaxed atmosphere, coupled with traditional food. There is also a covered and heated outdoor area to enjoy throughout the year. There are over 50 wines to choose from including reds, whites, roses and champagnes, there is also orange wine available. The cocktail and spritz menu is also extensive, offering the old favourites like Whiskey Sours, Pina Coladas or Daiquiris, or our ‘go-to’ cocktail the Passionfruit Martini!
The Running Horse offers an authentic bar experience in Aldgate, with impactful centre stage bar and a lively atmosphere. There is a great range of craft beers, fresh tank beer and extensive gin list. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. We recommend the ‘Tommy’s Margarita’ which is a blend of Olmeca tequila with lime juice and agave syrup.
Bar + Block is a Steakhouse that offers fantastic food along with a huge range of drinks and cocktails. On the drinks menu there is a large range of spirits including Rums, Whiskeys, Gins and Vodkas to choose from. There are local draft and bottled beers and ciders along with popular European brands. There are over twenty red, white and rose wines and also a selection of soft drinks and hot drinks available. Our favourite is the Rhubarb Gin Fizz, which is coupled with lemon juice and topped with Prosecco.
Pastry Parlour as the name suggests offers a mouth-watering selection of freshly baked pastries, they are also famous for their authentic and high quality prepared coffee and a large selection of hot drinks. Pastry Parlour is perfect to grab a delicious coffee or tea with friends or enjoy some me time with some delicious baked treats.
Dine-in Food Options at Goodman’s Fields
Also at Goodman’s Fields you will find a great range of restaurants, should you prefer. There are two Italian and two Middle Eastern restaurants, who serve fantastic food in relaxed surroundings.
Amber is a great option if you enjoy Eastern Mediterranean food and offers delicious flavours and the freshest of ingredients. They have an extensive drinks menu which includes wines, cocktails, mocktails and Gin and Tonics, there is a great range of beers and soft drinks too. We love the Figmary cocktail – an infusion of Tanqueray, figure, rosemary and prosecco.
Zia Lucia delivers authentic Italian food in a fun and relaxed environment, there is a large open kitchen which allows you to see the chefs prepare the food. The staff also create a great selection of drinks that include wines, prosecco, craft beers, cocktails and traditional Italian digestives like Limoncello and Grappa. Our favourite is the Hugo cocktail a blend of prosecco, elderflower cordial, soda and fresh mint!
Pizza Union cook up classic Roman style pizzas straight from the oven and other Italian favourites and they also have an extensive drinks menu that includes wines, beers, prosecco, soft drinks and hot drinks too.

Goodman’s Fields is home to three supermarkets selling a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Sainsburys and Amazon Fresh offer trusted and favourite brands and a large selection of soft drinks, wines and beers, whilst the Tian Tian Asian Supermarket specialises in drinks from the Far East too.

The Goodman’s Fields bars, cafes, pubs and restaurants are located in E1, in the Aldgate area. The nearest tube station is Aldgate East (District, Hammersmith & City) and is a 4 minute walk. Aldgate (Circle, Metropolitan) is a 7 minute walk and Tower Hill (Circle, District) is an 11 minute walk.
Is there an option for outdoor seating?
Many of the pubs, bars and restaurants at Goodman’s Fields offer outdoor seating which is in fully pedestrianised areas so you’re not next the busy traffic. Also there are green spaces to explore too. Be sure to call ahead on hot and sunny days to reserve outdoor tables and avoid disappointment.

Our Aldgate pubs and Bars are new buildings and provide easy access for wheelchair users and those people with accessibility challenges. Goodman’s Fields has been designed with accessibility in mind and we are keen to ensure everyone can enjoy our shops, bars, restaurants and green spaces.
What else is there to do in the area?
If you’re visiting London and wan to take in the sights then Tower Bridge is only a 10 minute walk from Goodman’s Fields. Tower Hill is also a short walk and those working in the City will find it is a short walk to the financial centre. The lively and fun areas of Shoreditch, the Docks and Bricklane with their range of great shopping and bars are also nearby too.
